All roads lead to Bremat Multipurpose Hall on 1 March, 2026, where Youth Boxing Promotion, in partnership with the International Federation of People with Albinism & Blindness, will stage an international bout.

The bout, dubbed Counter Attack, will see Malawi’s Limbani “The Lion” Masamba face off against the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Aristote Kabeya Ntumba in what promises to be a thrilling showdown.

At 35, Masamba, who is Blantyre-based, is one of Malawi’s most seasoned super welterweight fighters.

His professional journey started on 29 April, 2012, and over the past decade, he has stepped into the ring 32 times, fighting a total of 207 rounds.

Currently ranked 448th out of 2,378 fighters globally in the super welterweight division, Masamba stands as Malawi’s number one active boxer in his weight class.

With a knockout ratio of 50 percent, he blends controlled aggression with technical awareness, proving capable of both going the distance and finishing fights emphatically.

Masamba will have to face the dangerous 29-year-old Ntumba, a rising middleweight contender from the Democratic Republic of the Congo known for his devastating knockout power.

Born in Kinshasa and now based in Lubumbashi, Ntumba made his professional debut on 1 January, 2015.

In just 14 bouts, he has fought 55 rounds and boasts a remarkable 90 percent knockout ratio, underlining his reputation as a powerful and clinical finisher.

Ranked 262nd out of 1,958 middleweights worldwide and third among active middleweights in his country, Ntumba has in the past defeated Malawian boxers Wilson Phiri, Charles Misanjo, Limbani Chikapa, and Dickson Saidi.

In other bouts, Denis Mwale will face Mbachi Kaonga, while Yamikani Mtambo squares off against Simon Ngoma, Clifford Antafu takes on Bernard Kundayi, and Blessings Manjawila meets Damiano Mphepo.

Organisers say Counter Attack is not only about elite competition but also about promoting inclusivity and community engagement through sport.
