One of Timveni’s Board of Trustees, Joab Frank Chakhaza, has appealed for the inclusion and active engagement of youth in the country’s development agenda.
Chakhaza expressed concern that young people are often sidelined in development activities despite being the majority and a force to reckon with in attaining Malawi 2063.
He was speaking today during Timveni’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan validation workshop in Lilongwe.
According to Chakhaza, the meeting provides an opportunity for various stakeholders in the children and youth sector to contribute to a future that is inclusive and empowering.

On her part, Memory Ngosi, a child rights activist, commended Timveni for creating an avenue where stakeholders can deliberate on critical issues affecting the welfare of children.
Some of the stakeholders and partners present included the National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM), Plan International Malawi, Point of Progress, Plan International Malawi, Standard Bank, Academicians, media practitioners, and youth representatives.
Timveni Child and Youth Media Organisation uses radio and television to give a voice to Malawi's young people, especially girls, on children's rights. The organization exists to help young people in Malalwi make a difference in their own lives, create awareness about children’s rights, and build the capacity of children and young people.
